Hydrangea Alley

I believe every southern garden should have hydrangeas.  And now that there are repeat bloomers, there is even more cause to plant that glorious bush in your garden.

On the shadier side of the house I created an alley with 3 antique wrought iron arches.  Along the sides of the alley are a variety of hydrangeas along with some compatible under plantings.  So far, limelight has proven to be the most dramatic of the bunch, having quickly grown to nearly 10 feet high with at least 100 blooms nearly the size of a football.    But I love the others too even if they are more humble in their performance.

I need to take more photos of the hydrangeas to post this summer.
