The Driveway Garden

The driveway garden was one of the last areas developed.  Originally it had only 5 cherry trees (alternatingCherry tree Kwanza and Yoshino).   But I couldn't keep my hands off that plot of empty ground so I slowly began adding plantings to the understory of the trees.

When I discovered that many of the "carpet roses" that were delivered for the front garden were actually ramblers, I transplanted them between the cherry trees and have been training some of the rose branches to grow up in the cherry trees.   It is fun to see the cherry trees "bloom" throughout the year.
